This subject is not easy to write about. Like most people, I like to think of myself as relatively tolerant and respectful. And you often hear that we all should be respectful of other people's religious beliefs. But I don't think I really do respect everyone's beliefs, and I'm not even sure I should.

I saw this on Top Gear last week: a Bugatti Veyron. It blows all the other supercars out of the water. It is the fastest, most powerful street legal car on the market, and it can leave a formula 1 car in its dust.

The Family Research Institute conducts research with the purpose of proving that homosexuality is a scourge on society. They publish "Educational" pamphlets about homosexuality.

Apparently, US Christian conservatives want to have the US Constitution amended to prohibit gay marriage. They'd like to see an amendment preventing consenting adults from legally committing to each other right alongside freedom of speech, abolishing slavery and granting women's suffrage.

It seems that many religious people have quite a preoccupation with sex. Generally, they are very concerned about preventing people from having sex in various ways and contexts: No gay sex, no anal sex, no sex before marriage, sex is mainly for procreation, and heaven forbid that you may actually enjoy it. (Of course, sex with family members seems fine).

A doctor was wheel-clamped for parking for too long in the carpark outside his surgery. He was pretty pissed off and didn't want to pay to have his car unclamped.

I think the Fastways company is in deep trouble. As far as I can tell, their operation seems incapable of delivering parcels on time, and in my experience, they lose 1/3 of the parcels sent with them.

It turns out that I am an Irish citizen. Ever since I was born, I have had dual Irish and New Zealand citizenship and I didn't realize.

On Tuesday afternoon, after my last post, I managed to get through to a person. I think her name was Mary Beth. She was very apologetic and said that the parcel had taken far too long to be delivered. She promised to go down to dispatch and find out exactly where it was and then call me back. I never heard anything.
