Mango Lassi
One of my favourite drinks is a mango lassi. You can get it at most Indian restaurants in New Zealand and many restaurants here, but most of the time it is made from either tinned mango puree (if you are lucky) or some mango flavoured stuff (if you aren’t) and a lot of sugar. Since it is mango season here right now, I’ve been able to have the real thing fresh and homemade almost every day.
Mangos have been easily available for most of the past month. We can buy of fresh mangos for less than a dollar a kilo. We get them home, peel them and chop them up. Some go into a a bowl in the fridge for delicious mango snacks:
And the rest is put into the blender with some yoghurt and milk to make a delicious vat of fresh mango lassi:
This stays in the fridge for me to dip into whenever I feel like it. Here is the delicious final result:
