If you like piña coladas, and getting caught in the rain
If you’re not into yoga, if you have half-a-brain
If you like making love at midnight, in the dunes of the cape
I’m the lady you’ve looked for, write to me, and escape
Ingredients:
- 1 part Malibu coconut rum
- 3 parts cream
- 3 parts crushed pineapple (or 3 large chunks of fresh pineapple)
- 4-5 medium sized ice cubes
Instructions:
Blend all ingredients and pour into a tall glass. Garnish with pineapple.
Unfortunately, my blender isn’t actually powerful enough to blend the ice completely, so after I make the drink I sort of have to wait a bit for it to melt.
This recipe is not the classic recipe, which has coconut cream instead of real cream, and more alcohol. But this recipe is very subtle and smooth and absolutely delicious.
This is one of my absolute favourite cocktails.

I can confirm this! This pina colada, apparently not classic, was FANTASTIC. And I’ve only had one other pina colada from Cock and Bull to compare with this, and even from that I can tell the extreeeeeeeeeeme difference in yumminess.

Never had one. But it smells like a fluffy duck. Long Island Ice tea is the way to go. Dont make me recite from Alt And The Lost Civilization.

Excellent taste – Long Island Iced tea is my #1 favourite cocktail. And I honestly have to credit Alt and the Lost Civilization with making me aware of this whole world of cocktails with strange & sexy names. Maybe I will work my way through the song

When do you get to the Beer? My vote is for Carona with a shot of khalua in it. Never thought I would be excited by a blog entry on alcohol

Oooh, I’ve never tried that, although I like both Corona and Kahlua. What’s it taste like? I’ve seen something called a Headless Mexican on the menu at the Mexican Cafe, which is Corona spiked with Kahlua and Tequila. I might try it next time I’m there.

I forgot to add that apparently a Pina colada is good for you
Adding ethanol — the type of alcohol found in rum, vodka, tequila and other spirits — boosted the antioxidant nutrients in strawberries and blackberries, the researchers found.
Any colored fruit might be made even more healthful with the addition of a splash of alcohol, they report in the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture.

Excellent! So whenever I have a piña colada, screwdriver or tequila sunrise, I can say it’s health food!
