The house pictures I posted yesterday showed a house that was very cluttered and a bit untidy, but otherwise clean and in apparently a good state of repair. It’s not how I’d present a house if I wanted someone to fork over $300k+ but hey, it’s not too bad. By contrast, this listing that arrived in my email this morning is a shocker.
This Henderson house is listed for $259,000. For your quarter million bucks, you get a “solid 3 bedrooms, single garage, freehold 675m2 level section close to High School, Henderson Civic Centre, West City shops and cinemas”. The caption states that this could be my next project, so it’s no surprise that the text mentions needing a new kitchen, paint, paper and carpets. It does say that there is a bathtub and toilet ready for installation, though.
Yesterday’s house was cluttered. This is just filthy. What’s with the sheets and things hanging over the door? And the shirt hanging over the window?
Ignore the gorgeous wallpaper and the floral sheet hanging over the door to the laundry, and look at the stove? Does that look safe?
Of course, by now, I don’t expect it to be tidy. But look at the mould patches on the walls? Damp much?
And now, the pièce de résistance, the bathroom:

There’s that new bathtub waiting to be installed. But how does anyone use that shower? Look at the mould everywhere!
I sincerely hope that’s not the toilet that’s waiting to be installed. I have no idea what’s going on with the floorboards around the toilet … looks like the whole thing could just drop through the floor. And I don’t even want to think about what that plastic bag is for.
The listing concludes with the words “Hesitate and you’ll miss out, make your offer now.” I don’t think so.

I was going for scary until I see the bathroom, or should I say Junk room #3. Home to me is more of a spiritual place, I cant just put up a sign on the door and call it home. It takes time to grow into a house. And it’s very important to have a good impression right from the start, in a way it’s very much like a relationship. First impression is 50%. Even if I have spare cash to redo the house, I still will not buy a place like this.
And I dont know what kind of person live here. and what is point of having a toilet, looks like you may as well just find a spot and do your thing, then you can use that plastic bag afterward :p
Ok, Bad thought Bad!
